A Waldorf doll provides children with a very different imaginative and sensory experience than a typcial mainstream plastic doll. Waldorf dolls are handcrafted from simple natural materials--wool filling, cotton exteriors, and wool hair. It only takes one touch to register how much more "life" there is in a Walodrf doll versus dolls made of plastic and polyfill petroleum products. Another distinguishing feature is the lack of distinguishing features! The disturbing fake smiles and frozen expressions on some dolls sharply contrast with the soft, minimalist features of a Waldorf doll. Simple facial features allow for far more imaginative play that enables the child to experience a full range of human emotions with their dolls. These 11' handcrafted dolls have pure wool innards, a cotton shell and cotton clothing.Each doll is made by hand by hearing disabled women in a Fair Trade cooperative in Lima, Peru.
