Though our shop is located on a bustling corner in Alaska’s second largest city, the magic of the boreal forest is just steps away. Sparkling and crisp throughout the long, dark winter; bursting with life and activity during our short, frenzied sub-arctic summers, the forest surrounds us. It influences our sense of connection with nature and encourages us to note the progression of the seasons, while serving as a backdrop for the wonderland of childhood. Childhood is a time when every half-hidden nook holds the possibility to shelter something as wondrous as a vole’s nest, a red squirrel’s cache, or perhaps even a fluttering fairy.
